Metropolitan Hospitality Group is getting ready to make its Maryland debut, and it’s chosen a Northern Virginia favorite as its opening salvo into the state. The busy DMV restaurant group is opening an outpost of Open Road, which focuses on serving up American comfort food, in Chevy Chase, reports wtop.
Open Road will be opening at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue as part of The Collection mixed-use development. Metropolitan Hospitality Group president Matthew Carlin explains the allure of the neighborhood on the company’s website, saying: “We have been thoughtful about where and how MHG would make its first move into Maryland, and Friendship Heights immediately stood out. It is an established community with a strong sense of place, excellent connectivity and residents who value quality dining and genuine hospitality.”
Open Road has not yet announced when it will be ready to welcome customers, however its arrival is certain to be embraced by the Chevy Chase community. The restaurant has already made a strong impression on the four neighborhoods it’s already entered-Merrifield, Rosslyn, Reston, and Tysons.
Future Open Road visitors can look forward to a warm and welcoming dining experience. The website explains what’s in store: “Open Road is our love letter to American culture and the freedom of the highway. Come as you are, whether you’re here with the family, your coworkers, or the whole crew for game day. Our kitchen team sources the freshest ingredients to create quality seasonal food. Our beer list celebrates local craft breweries, our whiskey and bourbon collection runs deep, and our handcrafted cocktails change with the seasons.”
