A local restaurateur is preparing to bring fresh pizza and delicious pastas to Lake Anne Plaza. Yasser Baslios will be opening a new location of his popular Deli Italiano restaurant in Reston, reports local media outlet The Burn.

The Reston eatery, opening at 1631 Washington Plaza, will occupy a smaller space than other Deli Italiano locations. An opening timeline is not currently available, however a spokesperson for the restaurant told What Now DC that they are hoping to open soon, and will reach back out once an opening date is confirmed.

The Lake Anne Plaza storefront has been in the works for a considerable amount of time. Baslios expressed great enthusiasm about entering the Reston restaurant scene, telling Reston Now “We’re really excited to be part of the community. We don’t just say that. We mean that.”

The first Deli Italiano opened in 1990 in Great Falls, Virginia. Baslios, an Egyptian immigrant, was initially hired as a dishwasher, but eventually came to own the restaurant. The eatery currently has locations in Great Falls, Arlington, Lansdowne, and Herndon. Deli Italiano has its sights set on growth; in addition to the forthcoming Reston space, the restaurant will soon open in Leesburg.
