A Dupont Circle mainstay is bringing its delicious cuisine and distinctive atmosphere to Bethesda this year. Michelin-rated restaurant, Ala, is bringing Levantine cooking to the region in mid 2024, reports local media outlet The List: Are You On It?

Ala will be taking over the space that formerly housed Postiano at 4948 Fairmount Avenue. The new location will allow for both indoor and outdoor seating; the restaurant will accommodate up to 150 customers indoor and will provide space for up to 20 guests on an outdoor patio.

Chef Ercan Sahn will be crafting Ala’s dishes. The menu will feature a fusion of dishes from Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria. While not identical, the Bethesda restaurant will closely mirror the original Dupont Circle establishment’s cuisine. According to the Ala website, future regulars can look forward to savoring an entirely Halal menu that features lunch specials, brunch, and happy hour deals.

An official opening date has not yet been announced for Ala. However the restaurant is hoping to open by this spring.
