A beloved DC-area pizzeria is bringing hot slices back to Fairfax City later this year. Andy’s Pizza is bringing its popular pies to the former home of Matchbox pizza, reports Patch.

Andy’s will be moving into 10408 Fairfax Boulevard almost a year after Matchbox shuttered its shop in the Point 50 shopping center. A precise opening date is not yet available, however signage has been hung and a liquor license application is taped up in the window.

According to the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority website, the license’s approval is still pending. The application states that the restaurant will be able to accommodate up to 100 guests.

The company is currently actively recruiting staff. While Andy’s has not named a precise opening date, a representative states they will be opening the Fairfax City location “sometime later this winter.”

Andy’s Pizza currently has eight locations spread across Maryland, Virginia, and DC. The popular eatery has earned fans through its distinctive 72 hour cold ferment crust.
