One of the DMV area’s top burger joints is preparing to make a triumphant return to Columbia Heights. After shutting down a location in the Tivoli in 2019, DC favorite Z-Burger is returning to the region this year, reports local media outlet PoPville.
The popular eatery will be opening at 1400 Irving Street NW in a space that last housed Ledo Pizza. The building has been vacant since Ledo shuttered operations in October of 2023.
While Z-Burger has not announced an official opening date for their reentry into the Columbia Heights dining scene, PoPville speculates the doors will open in around 6 weeks.
Z-Burger, which has enjoyed widespread acclaim, is the passion project of Peter Tabibian. Founded in 2008, the restaurant has earned accolades from various national news sources.
As the name suggests, Z-Burger’s menu prominently features the beloved meat treat. However, customers can also enjoy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, and veggie burgers. Visitors hoping to satisfy a sweet tooth can sample one of Z-Burger’s 75 flavors of milkshakes.
