What was one of college students’ favorite food, especially during final weeks? Pizza.

Residents of University Edge, a 792-bed student apartment complex, are in for a treat by the end of this year as Old Bag of Nails plans to open a fast-casual pizza eatery inside the building.

Old Bag of Nails opened its first Michigan restaurant in Lansing inside Red Cedar Development less than a year ago. The company also offers another fast-casual pizza eatery, The Pizza Club, in Upper Arlington, OH. Therefore, Lansing will be the company’s second fast-casual pizza concept.

Planned to open by the end of this year, this new concept will focus on pizza, subs, and salads, stepping away from the Old Bag of Nails brand’s tradition of typical pub food, such as fish and chips and burgers. This new addition will join existing businesses below University Edge on the first floor of the building, including Feng Cha and Tropical Smoothie.

At the time of this coverage, Old Bag of Nails did not respond to What Now Detroit reporter’s request for commentary. The new eatery will be less than a mile from Old Bag of Nails Pub, located on Cascade Boulevard. The company hasn’t finalized the new restaurant’s name, but diners can expect a menu similar to The Pizza Club, their Ohio eatery.
