An Italian option will soon be operating in the town just east of Grand Rapids.
Popular downtown Grand Rapids pizza spot Fratelli’s will soon be opening at a new location at 123 W Main Street in Lowell. This is the team’s second restaurant, set to serve many of the same favorite pizzas, pasta dishes and breads. Owner Maria Cannizzo told What Now Detroit she and the team are hoping to open by the end of August.
The first Fratelli’s debuted in 2009 at 435 Bridge Street NW. For 17 years, the family-led operation has been one of the main pizza options for those on a night out on the west side of downtown. Cannizzo said she has not planned the new location for very long, but it came at an opportune time for the business.
“Downtown (on) bridge street is a different vibe than we have in Lowell,” Cannizzo said.
For their signature pizzas, those dining can choose from a variety of flavors like margherita, Sicilian and deluxe with a 10-inch or 14-inch pie. Right now, the team is not releasing any new menu additions, but Cannizzo said they want to create an extensive pasta menu. A bartender has already been hired to create a drink menu as well.
Fratellis’ will be on the north side of W Main Street, next to the Main Street Inn. This is close to the bridge crossing the river, and other concepts nearby include Los Portales Bar and Grill, Sabor Mexicano and Flat River Grill. Downtown Lowell is about a 25-minute drive east of Grand Rapids.
