A New Thai Restaurant is Coming to Ann Arbor

Chef Teerawat “Apple” Pho-On is making Pad Thai available to locals from noon to dawn. The new restaurant will open in a few months.

The space that once belonged to Ann Arbor’s Greek icon KouZina Greek Street Food is finally getting new life, having sat vacant since KouZina’s closure last December. Chef Teerawat “Apple” Pho-On has begun to remodel the building at 332 S. Main St. to become the future home of his new concept, Eat Thai. This news was first seen on MLive.

Pho-On told MLive that he anticipates the construction to be completed in the next few months. The chef is a notable figure in the local Thai food scene. Having owned other popular Thai restaurants, such as Tuptim Thai Cuisine near Ypsilanti and other restaurants in Troy and Oxford. Originally from Thailand, Pho-On brings authentic Thai recipes to his establishments across Michigan.

The new restaurant’s operation is overseen by general manager Jay Armani, who told MLive that the new restaurant will open from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m., 7 days a week, with alcoholic beverage offerings. “His plan is to offer a better choice as far as Thai food and something that’s open late,” Armani told MLive. “He wanted to do something different.”

Pho-On already has plans to open another location in the city, with more restaurants considered in other markets. What Now Detroit connected with Pho-On but hadn’t received a reply to our email inquiry by the time of this coverage.
