A permit has been submitted to the city of Seattle by Owners Hannah and Nancy Phan for their current pop-up business, Milk and Mochi, to have a permanent location at 4316 Fremont Ave.
The sisters told What Now Seattle that the lease is still in negotiations, so nothing has been made certain just yet, but the pop-up is definitely looking for a place to call home.
“We wanted to start a business together coming out of the pandemic to have a sense of community and something more tangible,” Nancy Phan said. “And combined with what we both wanted and our love of food, we started Milk and Mochi in mid-June of 2022.”
The sisters are most excited about their new drink offerings. “Drinks are super important to us, and we really love tea,” Hannah Phan said. So their menu will soon include tea options with an asian tea focus along with lattes she mentioned.
Our bakery is an expression of the in-between experience of being both Asian and American. Not fully Asian, but not fully Western: what we create is a mix of the two that represents who we are.

The duo is still keeping the details pretty hush-hush otherwise. But we do know the prospected location is approximately 1300 square feet where they plan to have a “full blown bakery” compared to their current limitations as a pop-up.
