Unicorn Bar and Grill has reopened under new ownership at 5302 N. 49th Street in Ruston. A team that includes Gary and Nathan Wescott, the father-and-son owners of Tacoma’s Odd Otter Brewing Co., now runs the former Unicorn Sports Bar. Its soft opening began November 2.

A Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board notice also lists Emily Ryan Wescott and Paige Wescott as applicants for the transfer of the existing liquor license. The notice records the name change from Unicorn Sports Bar to Unicorn Bar and Grill.

The property previously belonged to Kye Barker and her family, who had owned it since 2009, according to The News Tribune.

The new owners plan to operate through the end of 2026 before temporarily closing for renovations, which they hope to begin in January 2027. Details of the proposed work have not been disclosed.

For now, customers can return for drinks, food, and a game of pool. The menu includes burgers, chicken wings, chicken strips, and bar snacks such as fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. They also offer a vegetarian burger option. Drinks include draft beer, beer pitchers, and mixed drinks.

The Wescotts’ Tacoma brewery offers a different food menu centered on hot dogs alongside craft beer. Its taproom operates at 716 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma.

The Unicorn team has said on social media it will announce a grand reopening date later. Follow Unicorn Bar and Grill on Instagram for upcoming plans.
