Fast casual dim sum restaurant plans to reopen in 2014.

UPDATE (January 9, 2013): Yum Bunz permanently closes.

After only a few months in business, Yum Bunz owners Mike Blum and Guy Wong, are temporarily closing the fast casual dim sum restaurant until early 2014.

“We will be closing at 9:30 p.m. tomorrow evening for the rest of the year,” according to a post on Yum Bunz’s Facebook page Wednesday. “See you back here in 2014!”

Yum Bunz was planning to run a Scoutmob “Hand-picked deal” slated to launch on the day of the Facebook announcement.

Atlantans who purchased the deal were refunded the money, according to an email from Scoutmob.

“Thanks so much for purchasing a Yum Bunz Hand-picked offer on the Scoutmob App,” according to the email.

“We just got word from them that they will be re-vamping for the next month or so and will not be open, so we are putting their Hand-picked offer on hold until further notice.”

What Now Atlanta was unable to reach Yum Bunz for comment Friday.
