Pizza chain files plans for first Atlanta location.

Midtown is getting another pizzeria.

Sarpino’s Pizzeria filed a building permit application with City of Atlanta Friday for its first Atlanta location, at 1000 Northside Drive.

The pizza joint will spend an estimated $195,000 building out the 1,687-square-foot West Midtown space near Georgia Tech, and not too far down the street from famed Antico Pizza Napoletana.

Saprino’s has locations in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota and Texas, according to the restaurant’s website.

In other Atlanta pizza news, 1010 Midtown’s Piola shuttered its doors last week while pizza joint Varuni Napoli plans on opening Wednesday, April 23, around the corner from Piedmont and Monroe (near the newest section of Piedmont Park).
