Residents in southwest Atlanta will soon have more access to groceries.

Savi Provisions will operate a grocery store at 2080 Campbellton Road SW, Invest Atlanta has announced. Savi Provisions will operate an additional location in Downtown through a sublease agreement with an existing tenant, according to the announcement.

The grocery stores are supported by nearly $8.2 million in financial incentives as part of the city’s goal to help combat food insecurity and provide fresh, healthy food to areas of the city that are in need of it.

Savi Provisions was selected to operate the stores after submitting a bid and interviewing with a selection committee.

“We recognize the challenges faced by communities in accessing fresh and nutritious food,” Mayor Andre Dickens said. “This municipal grocery store strategy is a significant step toward addressing food deserts in our city and ensuring that all residents can enjoy healthy, affordable food options. We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh food, regardless of their economic situation.”

The stores are expected to open in the second half of 2025, according to the announcement. They will feature produce, meat, dairy products and other grocery essentials. The names of the stores are likely to be something other than “Savi Provisions.” The Campbellton Road location is expected to serve 1,750 people a month, with the Downtown location projected to serve 6,000 people a month.

Savi Provisions has 16 stores around metro Atlanta, including one at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The specialty markets feature gourmet, artisan and organic foods, as well as fine wines and spirits.
