In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta (WNA) is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.

Tap & Six, a Roswell craft beer bar that in Dec. 2019 celebrated two years in business, is closing down for good after service June 14, 2020.

Tap & Six announced the decision on its Facebook page earlier this week after the owners “consulted our Magic 8 Ball” amid the “devastating economic effects” of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Of all the challenges we expected to face, a pandemic with such devastating economic effects was not one of them,” Tap & Six wrote in the social media announcement.

“The bar/restaurant business is tough on a good day. It. requires a steady flow of customers in order to be profitable and pay team members for their hard work. Tap & Six was conceived around the idea of gathering–a place for friends and family to come together to enjoy a beer and spend time connecting. Unfortunately, that doesn’t aline with our current reality.”

Tap & Six joins a growing list of Atlanta-area restaurants that have/are shutting down permanently, citing financial hardships brought on by the novel coronavirus.

“After slicing and dicing the numbers and considering every possible business model and scenario, we did what all wise, small business owners do and consulted our Magic 8 Ball. It confirmed what we knew: ‘Outlook not so good.'”

Here’s Tap & Six’s statement in its entirety:
