In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.
Zinburger, a chain of wine and burger bars, won’t be reopening its two Atlanta-area restaurants, the company’s Co-CEO and President Rick Barbrick told its VIP members in an email Thursday.
“First, let me thank you for being a loyal VIP member. It has truly been our pleasure to serve you,” Barbrick wrote.
“Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant financial impact on the restaurant industry and we are unable to reopen your local Zinburger.”
The local Zinburgers were in Buckhead’s Lenox Mall, at 3393 Peachtree Rd NE #3065A, and in Dunwoody, at 4555 Ashford Dunwoody Rd NE, and are included in a list of 15 permanent closings for the company.
Both Atlanta locations temporarily shuttered in early-April to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus as mandated by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.
“Only our Marlboro and Bridgewater, NJ locations will reopen when it is safe to do so. Clifton, NJ has remained open for delivery and pick up and the dining room will open as soon as the Governor allows.”
Food and supplies from the 15 closed locations were donated to local food banks, according to the email.
Zinburger joins a growing list of Atlanta-area eateries that permanently shuttered citing financial hardship brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak.

what a shame, they made the best burgers and always cooked them perfectly.
Knowing they were closing why would they still be selling their gift cards for Mother’s Day? They literally were stealing and my daughter lost $50 when she bought me one
