Heading into its tenth anniversary, Buttermilk Kitchen Owner Suzanne Vizethann is expanding the breakfast and lunch restaurant with the addition of The Pantry by Buttermilk, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC). Buttermilk Kitchen is set to turn 10 in October having debuted in 2012.

The Pantry by Buttermilk, set to replace the adjacent Huff Harrington Art Gallery, at 4240 Rickenbacker Dr. NE, will act as a retail space and event venue and could open as early as August 2022, according to the ABC. Huff Harrington Art Gallery has since relocated.

On the retail side of things, The Pantry by Buttermilk will offer everything from coffee mugs to Vizethann’s Buttermilk Kitchen cookbook to food items from local purveyors. Another element of the space will be a 12-seat private dining room — think large brunch party — that can also be rented out for events. Vizethann also plans on hosting Buttermilk events in the space like biscuit-making classes. The details are still being hashed out.

The 2,300 square-foot space will also provide Buttermilk with a new office space and storage for the restaurant.

“Buttermilk’s mission is to nurture people through food by use of sustainable, local ingredients,” according to the company’s Facebook page. “A kitchen where most everything is made in-house from scratch, paying tribute to it’s name, ‘Buttermilk’ which refers to the liquid utilized after butter was churned; carrying out the philosophy of letting nothing go to waste.”
