Chef David Bartlett, the owner of Macon Supper Club, is bringing a new restaurant, 1833 Tavern, to Mercer Village in Macon at 1635 Montpelier Ave. Construction has been underway throughout October on the space beside ZBeans, according to posts on the brand’s Instagram page. The space used to belong to Mercer Village Pizza.

It will offer a casual neighborhood dining spot, according to the Macon Supper Club website.

Macon Supper Club hosted a “sneak peek” meal on Oct. 18 of elements of the 1833 Tavern menu. 1833 Tavern is expected to offer smash burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, salads and entrees such as salmon and brisket and grits.

Macon Supper Club launched as a pop-up in late 2025 as a Southern-inspired “Sunday supper” concept. It will begin to operate within 1833 Tavern, according to its website.

It is unclear when 1833 Tavern will open.
