DFW foodies, get ready to show some Lonestar State hospitality to the region’s next great New York transplant. Little Ruby’s Cafe, a concept that’s brought Australian flare to the Empire State for the past 23 years, is preparing to begin construction on its first Dallas home this spring.

Helmed by the whimsically named Wish You Were Here Group, Little Ruby’s will be making its DFW debut at 2323 Cedar Springs Road as part of the 23Springs development. A taste of the Land Down Under may well be available before the end of the year; according to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, work is set to begin on the restaurant on May 12 of this year and should wrap by October 31.

While the project is technically a renovation and not a ground-up construction, Little Ruby’s Cafe diners can look forward to a fully decked-out eatery. The 4,025 square foot space is receiving the full makeover treatment, described as a: “First-time interior tenant finish-out…scope consists of new finishes, lighting, furniture, FS equipment, and extension of existing utilities.”

Founded in 2002, Little Ruby’s Cafe made an impact on the NYC dining scene through its distinctive cuisine-in particular its “brekkie” favorites. The menu features familiar dishes like avocado toast and breakfast burritos alongside more unexpected delights including ricotta hotcakes and vegemite toast. The Dallas storefront will be Little Ruby’s sixth U.S. location and first outside of New York.
