McDonald’s is rolling out its McCrispy Strips back to the menu, making its way back to having boneless chicken offerings. The McCrispy Strips will be available at all McDonald’s locations across the country starting on April 29.

Highlights

  • Starting April 29, McCrispy Strips return to McDonald’s menus across the country.
  • A new Creamy Dip will accompany the chicken strips.
  • As McCrispy Strips heads back to the menu, anticipation rises for the Snack Wraps.

McCrispy Strips: Nationwide Launch Details

An Instagram post by food blogger Snackolator revealed McDonald’s plans to bring back the menu item. The product has already been rolled out in some locations, and customers may be able to find it at their local McDonald’s within this week, the post also said.

McDonald’s developed the chicken strips to integrate seamlessly with its menu. Although not the typical hand-breaded tenders, they are crunchy on the outside and bursting with flavor on the inside, a review said.

Introducing Creamy Chili Strip Dip

McDonald’s is launching a new Creamy Chili Strip Dip for customers who prefer a bit of heat. Reviews say that the dip with the mild heat goes well with the McCrispy Strips.

McDonald’s continues to offer the other dips – Spicy Buffalo, Hot Mustard, and Nether Flame to go with the strips. At locations where McStrips are available, customers can choose two dipping sauces to go with each order.

Fan Reactions to McCrispy Strips

As McDonald’s brings out the McCrispy Strips to select locations as part of the test phase, fans were quick to voice their likes and dislikes. Many fans expressed their excitement about the chicken strips making their way back to the menu and said they look forward to trying them out.

One customer who tried the McCrispy Strips at their local store commented on the announcement’s Instagram post: “They were very good, and a 3 piece filled me up with medium fries. Just enough amount of seasoning on them. Good job McDs.” Another who tried the same said, “They’re not all thin looking like this, they look like legit tenders. Pretty good and so is the sauce.”

Having said that, the strips failed to impress other fans, even before they had tried it for themselves. Some of them compared the new product to the discontinued Chicken Selects that McDonald’s used to offer.

Broader Chicken Strategy for McDonald’s

Bringing back the McCrispy Strips goes along with McDonald’s plans to increase the number of chicken offerings and raise its market share in the chicken category.

The company had already announced that the much-anticipated Snack Wrap will be back sometime this year. The other new offerings were chicken strips and the limited-time Chicken Big Mac.
