The team at the newest Dave’s Hot Chicken in Gresham is preparing for their long-awaited opening on Friday, May 2.
The California-based chicken shop will open at 345 NW Burnside Road. This follows a year of planning and construction inside the restaurant. The team has been taking to social media to announce the opening.
“It’s our newest, shiniest model,” said Alex Karcher, owner of the upcoming location. Karcher has been with JCK Companies, which owns Dave’s Hot Chicken, for five years and he has been an operating principal at the company for about four years.
The floor plan will have a smaller kitchen, making the dining area more open, according to Karcher. There will also be a white leveled ceiling to make the room lighter.
Dave’s Hot Chicken has over 270 locations across the country. Three friends opened their first location in 2017 in East Hollywood, using Instagram to advertise the business. They currently have another Portland location at 2920 NE Sandy Boulevard, and in Beaverton at 2545 SW Cedar Hills Boulevard.
Menus vary by location, with popular items being chicken tenders, chicken sliders, cheese fries and milkshakes. It is an alcohol-free restaurant, and soft drinks are also added.Most meals range from $10 to $15.
