A drive-thru coffee brand is brewing a new location in Mount Pleasant.

Clutch Coffee Bar is expected to open soon at 1173 SC-41, part of the brand’s ongoing expansion across the Carolinas.

Clutch Coffee Bar began in 2018 and has since grown to 15 locations across South Carolina and North Carolina, with more on the way. Darren Spicer, John Anderson and Jake Vandermeer started the company after buying out two locations of The Human Bean in Mooresville, North Carolina.

As previously reported by What Now Charleston, Clutch Coffee Bar has also proposed a location in North Charleston at 8389 Dorchester Road. They are also expanding to Salisbury, North Carolina, with plans to open there this fall.

The Clutch Coffee Bar menu includes classic coffee beverages, like lattes and cold brew, with a lineup of signature drinks, like the Avalanche (white chocolate and vanilla), the Dream Bar (caramel, hazelnut and dark chocolate), the fan-favorite Caramel Macchiato, and the new Shaken Espresso available three ways (classic, tiramisu or salted caramel). The menu also includes iced teas, smoothies, juices, shakes and energy drinks, along with sweet treats like cookies, cake pops and muffin tops.

The upcoming Mount Pleasant location of Clutch Coffee Bar adds to the coffee offerings in the area, with Tidal Grounds Coffee located just south.
