A new cocktail bar is heading to 1803 Fifth Ave. N. in Salemtown later this year. James Beck, Nic Berry, Vinny Maniscalo and Storm Sheler will open Cultivar, bringing cocktails and a community space to the area, according to the release.
The design of the space will be a historic craftsman home, featuring botanicals, a bright atmosphere and immersive hi-fi. Customers can expect natural elements that aim to create a cozy, relaxing environment for enjoying drinks, food and acoustic music.
“Cultivar will be a fusion of thoughtfully designed drinks in an environment that at once feels like both home and a magical place tucked into a forest far away,” Beck said in the release. “Come to our magical treehouse, try your new favorite drink, hear your new favorite song and forget about the world outside.”
The menu will include technique-driven, detail-oriented signature cocktails with an herbal focus, as well as a non-alcoholic beverage program. The food menu will feature a mix of cheeses, cured meats, local bread and pickled vegetables.
“We want our guests to feel comfortable while we take their palate, eyes and ears on a transformational journey through flavors, sights, and smells,” Berry said in the release.
The members of the ownership team all have strong bartending backgrounds. Berry is a Nashville native with backgrounds in real estate and bartending at spots like Old Glory and Urban Cowboy. Beck formerly worked at the Patterson House and Urban Cowboy, and served as opening beverage director for Noelle hotel. Maniscalo formerly bartended at Fifth and Taylor and Urban Cowboy. Sheler formerly worked as head bartender at the Fox Bar and Cocktail Club.
“We as a collective have worked in and for some of the best bar programs in the city. We are a part of this community, and we have made many connections to the people who live and work here,” Sheler said in the release. “We have our fingers on the pulse of what Nashville needs because we’ve all been here for so long.”
