Ugly Bagel looks to have its second location in the works. Construction and real estate documents obtained by What Now Nashville indicate that a store is in development at 2000 Meridian Blvd, Suite 100, in Franklin.

The construction calls for an upfit of the space, including updates to finishes and lighting, new wall construction, commercial kitchen installation and modifications to the electrical and HVAC systems. Exterior work will include new signage, lighting, wall paint and awning.

Ugly Bagel co-founder Jeff Crabiel confirmed in a message with What Now Nashville that work is currently underway on the second store, though he declined to comment further on the actual location at this time.

The brand, founded by hospitality veterans Crabiel and Jake Strang, opened its first store at The Arcade in November. The concept, which focuses on serving fresh hand-rolled bagels, encourages customers to “embrace the ugly.”

“Nobody’s perfect, so we set out to create a bagel equally as unperfect, but crazy delicious. Introducing Ugly Bagel, coming in hot to spread joy one quirky bagel at a time,” the website states. “We’re here to embrace the art of imperfection and celebrate individuality, with a goal to inject a sprinkle of laughter into your everyday morning routine.”

Ugly Bagel offers flavor drops with rotating bagels and spreads as well as signature, permanent menu items. The 12 signature bagels include plain, everything, sesame, cinnamon raisin and French toast bagels, and the 12 signature spreads include plain, bacon chive, chipotle, veggie, mixed berry and brown sugar cinnamon. Current limited edition bagel flavors include pesto, cinnamon toast crunch, blueberry lemon and strawberries and cream.

The menu also features bagel sandwiches such as the Oui, Chef (with shaved roast beef, melted provolone and French onion sauce), and the Lox & Loaded (with smoked salmon, sliced tomato, red onion, cream cheese and capers).

As of now, an opening timeline for the second Ugly Bagel location remains unknown.
