The Newtown Square fast-casual dining scene is getting a burst of green. Chopt, a chain known for providing diners with a healthier option that doesn’t sacrifice speed or flavor, is opening a new location in the Ellis Preserve.

The eatery will be part of phase II of the up-and-coming shopping center, joining restaurants including Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Cava, and First Watch. Chopt will benefit from the heavy foot traffic implicit in retail development, while setting itself apart by its unique, salad-based business model.

The nutritious concept signed a lease for its new Newtown Square storefront in December of 2024, but an official opening timeline is not presently available.

Chopt has been serving customers since its inception in 2001. The chain now has more than 90 locations, propelled by its fundamental purpose: “We challenge ourselves to create a menu that celebrates flavors from around the world and opens up a seat at the table for anyone who wants to join.”
