Turkana Food Inc. Issued a Recall

Turkana Food Inc. is a food importer and distributor based in New Jersey. The company imports and distributes a wide range of food products under various brands.

On June 12, 2025, the company announced that they are recalling a batch of Floria Dried Apricots. During routine sampling, the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, sulfites were identified in the recalled batch. The product label did not include that and may pose a risk of allergic response if consumed. The same day, the FDA also issued a public awareness notice.

To date, no case of illness caused by these Floria Dried Apricots has been observed. However, until the investigation continues and the issue is resolved with the manufacturer, the company has stopped the production and distribution of these products.
