Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has been expanding in New York City and beyond. Now, it is teeing up a new location in Brooklyn, with plans to open a spot at 445 Gold Street. It is listed as “coming soon” on the Van Leeuwen website.
It has 35 locations currently open in New York City, with a new spot opening as early as last month. What Now New York also recently reported on a new location expected to join Penn Station soon.
Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill started the brand in a yellow ice cream truck in New York City in 2008. They emphasize the use of simple ingredients in their recipes, and they offer both traditional and vegan ice cream options.
Their specialty ice cream offerings include flavors like dulce de leche brownie, peanut butter brownie honeycomb, buttermilk berry cornbread and lemon poppyseed muffin.
It has locations across 10 states and Washington, D.C., with more expansion in the works across multiple markets.
