The team behind Dominick’s Steakhouse, Steak 44, and Ocean 44 has announced the acquisition of the former Chart House property at 7255 E. McCormick Parkway in Scottsdale, with plans to launch a new fine dining concept at the lakeside location.

Prime Steak Concepts, owned by James Beard-nominated brothers Jeff and Mike Mastro, their father Dennis Mastro, and business partner Scott Troilo, plans to completely redevelop the waterfront space near Camelback Lake and McCormick Ranch into a signature restaurant, according to InBusinessPHX. The group has not yet announced the name or theme of the new concept, but says it will be built from the ground up with a unique menu currently in development.

“We are excited to bring a new concept and new building to this incredible location,” Jeff Mastro said in a statement. “My brother Mike and I grew up just a few blocks away in McCormick Ranch, and this is the perfect place for us to do something very special that fits this iconic location.”

Chart House, a longtime Scottsdale staple since 1984, has permanently closed. The new restaurant is expected to open in Fall 2026.

Prime Steak Concepts also recently acquired Durant’s Steakhouse in Phoenix, previously reported by What Now Phoenix. The historic restaurant, originally opened in 1950, is currently closed for renovations and is expected to reopen in Fall 2025, according to AZ Central. The team plans to preserve the dining room’s original charm while updating the kitchen and adding enhancements, including their version of the signature porterhouse club.

“To loosely quote Patek Philippe, you never own a legend like Durant’s,” Michael Mastro said in a statement, according to AZ Central. “You simply look after it for the next generation. My family and I are thrilled with the acquisition and intend to bring a renaissance to this iconic steakhouse and expand its legendary status for generations to come.”
