A new spot for all-day breakfast is coming to Cordova.
An 1,840-square-foot Waffle House is under construction at 10111 Macon Road, next to the Kroger, according to the Commercial Appeal.
The iconic diner chain is known for serving up breakfast favorites around the clock.
Its signature item is the waffle, offered in variations such as classic, pecan and chocolate chip. The menu features a range of breakfast options, including plates with eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash browns and toast, along with omelets and breakfast sandwiches. Hash browns are a standout and can be customized with toppings like cheese, onions, ham, chili and jalapeños—known by the chain’s signature lingo like “smothered” and “covered.”
Beyond breakfast, Waffle House offers burgers, patty melts, Texas toast sandwiches and diner-style entrees like T-bone steaks and grilled chicken. Simple desserts, including pie slices, round out the menu. The offerings are known for being fast, customizable and satisfying, especially for late-night or early-morning diners.
Waffle House got its start in 1955 in Georgia, when Joe Rogers Sr. and Tom Forkner opened a 24-hour, sit-down restaurant designed to serve friends, neighbors and the people on both sides of the counter, according to the company’s website.
Today, the beloved breakfast chain has grown to more than 1,900 locations across 25 states.
