The taco restaurant that started out as a food truck has found a second home in Chicago.

Quesabirria Jalisco Tacos recently took to social media to announce the restaurant is expanding to a new location at 3904 N Cicero Avenue. This follows their journey from a food truck to a location on W 18th Street. Owner Ricardo Orozco told What Now Chicago the opening will be in “under 60 days.”

“We are here to bring you the authentic Mexican flavors,” Orozco said in the social media post.

The current restaurant is at 1314 W 18th Street in Pilsen. It has become famous for their quesabirria tacos packed with beef, cheese and cosome for dipping on the side. Quesabirria Jalisco gained recognition from The Infatuation Chicago in 2023 for one of the best spots for quesabirria tacos in the city.

Orozco said the menu will be similar to the current location, but also different. Regular tacos will be added, as well as tortas and burritos.

For a while, the business had a food truck on Addison Avenue. Orozco had the desire to bring a new location to the area for three years. This new restaurant will be going in at the same address as Hong Kong Restaurant, and next to MCM Pub & Grill.

As of now, the new floors and ceilings are being added in the space. To follow along about the new taco location, visit their Instagram @quesabirriajaliscotacos.
