With two locations in its San Diego hometown, Pappalecco offers an authentic Italian experience with espresso, gelati, and panini. Now, the brand is preparing to expand with a third location, this time in Las Vegas.
“From our little beach town in the heart of TUSCANY to the iconic city of LAS VEGAS… WOW!” says a post, published by Pappalecco on Instagram all the way back in October. “We still remember the day, more than 17 years ago, when we opened our doors in a quiet corner of the San Diego Little Italy. People thought we were crazy (and, honestly, we were a little!). But being brave paid off.”
At the time, this news got past us. This week, however, What Now came across building permit paperwork submitted to Clark County for a restaurant called Pappalecco at 4700 S Maryland Parkway. That appears to be Pappalecco’s future home (it’s already viewable on Google Maps, where it appears as “Permanently closed”).
Pappalecco serves up espresso drinks, gelato (and gelato offerings “Per il Creativo,” like affogato or a Croissant Stuffed with Gelato), panini like the Pappalecco (ham, fresh mozzarella, mixed greens, tomatoes, Thousand Island dressing, olive oil) and the Caprese, Salads, and more.
What Now reached out on Tuesday to Pappalecco owner Francesco Bucci to ask about plans for the Las Vegas opening. Bucci was not immediately available for comment.
