Local burger spot Harriet’s Hamburgers is slated to open a location in the Commonwealth development in Plaza Midwood this fall, according to a “coming soon” listing on their website and a social media announcement from the Commonwealth team earlier this summer.
Helmed by Brian Stockholm of Papi Queso, the restaurant debuted in Optimist Hall in 2020. This will be the fifth location for the brand, joining spots in Optimist Hall, Bowl at Ballantyne and Concord. There is also a location heading to Matthews, as previously reported by What Now Charlotte. That location is expected to open this fall, as well.
The brand serves classic burgers like The “O.G.” Hamburger — a double patty with white American Cheese, pickles, onions and sauce on a Parkerhouse bun — and The Royale, a double patty with American yellow cheese, pickles, iceberg lettuce, tomato and onions on a Parkerhouse bun. Sides include crispy fries, cheese curds, signature sauces and Henry’s Monster Cookie. Drink offerings include craft soda, agua fresca, Lucy’s lager and a rosé slushie called the frosé.
“At Harriet’s our formula is simple: quality ingredients, no compromises. We serve hamburgers up hot and fast, with all-natural beef, premium cheese and always with a side of kindness,” the website states.
Harriet’s also focuses on philanthropic efforts in the Charlotte community, including a partnership with SHARE Charlotte to give back to those doing positive work in the local area. They also make a donation to Halfway There Rescue for every Henry’s Monster Cookie purchased.
