The restaurant, located at 408 S Brookhurst Street in Anaheim, specializes in Mexican cuisine, including fajitas, tacos, and seafood. The restaurant offered authentic Mexican flavors with every bite, blending culture, tradition, and hospitality into its dining experience.
According to the August 26 inspection report, the restaurant was cited for several violations, including pest activity, rodent droppings beneath the soda station, and dead cockroaches in the employee restroom and near the storage area. The inspection also reported fruit flies at floor sinks near the cook’s line, waitress station, and rear prep area.
During the inspection review, a valid Food Manager Certificate was also unavailable. Further, the inspectors observed improper food holding temperatures, such as raw chicken and raw beef stored at 52°F instead of 41°F or below.
Uncovered food containers inside the walk-in cooler, and household pesticides were also found in the rear kitchen during the inspection. The inspection revealed significant clutter from old equipment and stagnant water in the floor sink at the cook’s line. Follow-up inspection
The restaurant was notified of its right to request a hearing within 15 days of receiving the notice on August 26.
All cited violations must be resolved before the restaurant can request reinspection. This includes removing excess clutter, proper food storage, and pest control using appropriate pest control methods. All equipment surfaces, food containers, shelves, walls, and floors must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to eliminate cockroach and pesticide contamination. In addition, all cracks and crevices must be sealed appropriately at the restaurant to prevent vermin harborage.
The notice further warns that any owner, manager, or operator who fails to comply may be found guilty of a misdemeanor and could face fines of up to $1,000 and up to six months in jail for each offense.
