White Rooster, the Dana Point restaurant from chef-owner Michael Campbell, is expanding to Corona del Mar, according to posts from Jeff Butcher, owner of Pacific Coast Realty Group. The forthcoming eatery is planned for 2931 East Coast Highway, where it will replace the recently closed Mayur Cuisine of India.

This will be the second location for the emerging concept, which debuted its Dana Point flagship in January.

White Rooster serves brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. The brand emphasizes “Comida Californiana” — a coastal California approach influenced by Mexican flavors and surf and beach culture. Dishes are centered around smoke-kissed proteins, blue corn, vibrant salsas, slow-cooked meats, bright citrus, and house-made sauces, its menu shows.

Chef Campbell has spent more than two decades cooking in kitchens from Barcelona to San Francisco, developing a culinary perspective that combines global influences with a strong connection to California’s coast.

He is also behind Capas Tacos, The Shore, Capo Leisure House, and Pacific Pearl Café. What Now OC previously reported on the latter venture as it expanded to Costa Mesa and Irvine.
