Los Vecinos Bar & Lounge is planning to open at 13912 Ponderosa St., Suite L, Santa Ana,  according to a license application filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. An opening date has not been announced.

The business applied for a Type 48 on-sale general public premises license, which allows a business to sell beer, wine, and distilled spirits for consumption on site, and does not require the business to serve food.

The bar’s name, “Los Vecinos,” translates from Spanish to “The Neighbors,” which may hint at a community-oriented concept, with Mexican or Latin American food, though the owners have not publicly described the theme or atmosphere of the lounge.

Details on the bar’s drink menu, hours, and any food or entertainment offerings have not been released.

License applications in California typically go through a review process that includes a 30-day public notice period, during which residents and local agencies may file protests. The application must be approved before the business can begin serving alcohol.
