Brooklyn-born Blank Street Coffee is brewing up its eighth Greater Boston location.

The new café will open at 501 Cambridge St in Allston, taking over the longtime Twin Donuts site. According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Boston’s Hamilton Company plans to restore Twin Donuts’ iconic neon sign, seamlessly blending it with Blank Street’s modern branding.

Founded in 2020 by Issam Freiha and Vinay Menda, Blank Street began as a battery-powered mobile coffee cart with a simple mission: to create trendy, affordable, and accessible coffee experiences.

Since then, the venture-backed chain has rapidly expanded, boasting nearly 90 locations across New York, Boston, Washington D.C., London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

Known for its inventive espresso drinks and flavored machas—including banana bread, white chocolate, and blueberry—Blank Street also features a rotating selection of locally-sourced pastries and non-coffee beverages. A statement notes that the new location will offer exclusive items honoring Twin Donuts.

The Allston café is slated to open in the spring of 2026, joining seven nearby locations in South Boston, West End, Cambridge, Brookline, Back Bay, and Beacon Hill.
