Earlier this summer, Memphis-based company Wiseacre Brewing acquired Bearded Iris Brewing. Now, Bearded Iris has announced major changes on the way, beginning with the closure of its second taproom located at Sylvan Supply. That location will close on Sept. 26.

“It’s been an incredible journey since we opened our second taproom, but our business has evolved so much over the years and it no longer makes sense for us to be spread out over two locations,” the Instagram announcement states. “As we look to the future, this change allows us to concentrate all of our energy and resources on the place where it all started: our original home in Germantown.”

The changes come in light of grander plans for the original Germantown taproom, located at 101 Van Buren St. In the Instagram announcement, the team teased plans for a “new and improved experience” at the Germantown location. There are major upgrades in store for the spot, including the addition of a permanent on-site kitchen, a renovated patio space, updated seating and new design elements such as more greenery. The team hopes to roll out these changes in 2026.

Kavon Togrye, Paul Vaughn and Matt Miller opened Bearded Iris Brewing in 2014. Beer offerings include Pep Talk lager, Homestyle IPA and Wavecraze Topical IPA.

In tandem with that news of the Sylvan Supply taproom closure, Black Dynasty Secret Ramen House — who had a long-time residency at the taproom — announced they will be transitioning to a standalone location in East Nashville.
