Ben Navarro’s Beemok Hospitality Collection is opening a new luxury hotel in downtown Charleston, featuring a distinctive stay paired with Charleston-inspired fare this fall.

The Cooper will be located next to Joe Riley Waterfront Park on the Charleston Peninsula. Overlooking the Cooper River, the 191-room hotel draws inspiration from the charm of the French Quarter.

“Nestled on the emblematic Cooper River, The Cooper offers a unique haven where refined elegance, laid-back living, and impeccable service harmonize into a magnetic guest experience,” the hotel’s website reads.

The Cooper will feature unique Charleston-inspired dining experiences, from a casual waterfront diner and all-day coffee shop to a signature seafood restaurant, celebrating the city’s distinctive culinary scene.

Other amenities include an on-site marina with a fleet of luxury cruising boats, a custom yacht for dinner cruises and private events and a waterfront taxi service to nearby Daniel Island. The Cooper will also offer a 7,000 square foot wellness spa, waterfront infinity pool and boutique shopping on the ground floor.

While an exact opening date has not been announced, the hotel’s website lists 2025 as its opening year. A spokesperson told What Now Charleston The Cooper is not yet open and more details will be released when available.
