Big Block Brewing is tapping into Black Diamond, with a new location opening at 30741 3rd Ave. The outpost is owned by John Julum.
“HUGE NEWS, beer lovers and families! Get ready, Black Diamond! Big Block Brewing is OVER THE MOON to announce our brand-new, ALL-AGES location is COMING SOON in September 2025!” the brewery shared on Facebook.
Big Block will pour from 20 award-winning taps and, according to business filings, has secured a liquor license from the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. The new spot will also feature a full-service restaurant and operate seven days a week.
“Big Block engines made their debut in family cars in the late 50’s and early 60’s long before the muscle car ever hit the streets. Back then, ordering a Big Block motor was rare, expensive and not real great on gas. People put these larger, powerful motors in their 4-door Impalas, Galaxies, Wildcats, and Vista cruisers because they wanted more. It made their drive to work or the store just a little bit better, a little faster, a little more fun…it separated them from the rest and best of all…they did it because they could.
Our brewery was founded on the same principle. Our brews take a little longer to produce, they cost a little more to make, and they just might be a little more fun. When we sit down to have a beer, we want something a little bit more. Why do we brew this way? …Because we can. Take one of our brews for a test drive, sit back and enjoy the ride. Cheers!” Big Block Brewing website reads.
The Black Diamond outpost will mark Big Block’s fourth location, joining taprooms in Sammamish, Redmond and Carnation.
While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, updates will be shared on the brewery’s website and social media channels.
What Now Seattle reached out to the Big Block Brewing team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
