Whataburger has a new location on the way to Franklin, with plans to open at 3075 Mallory Lane in a 3,305-square-foot space next to Chuck E. Cheese in Cool Springs. The City of Franklin announced the news earlier this month on its Facebook page.

The chain landed a building permit with the City of Franklin during the summer, with plans for a $1.5 million buildout.

Whataburger has 27 locations in Tennessee, with 16 locations in the Greater Nashville area stretching up to Springfield and down to Murfreesboro. However, this will be the first location for the burger chain in Franklin.

Whataburger has hundreds of locations across 17 states, with a strong presence in its home state of Texas, where it has 768 locations, according to the chain’s website. The brand has been expanding this year, entering new markets such as North Carolina, where it opened this spring.

As of now, an exact opening timeline for the Franklin location is unknown but plenty of construction is still to come on the space.
