Dave’s Hot Chicken has become a cultural phenomenon in America, and now Bite Brands is expanding its reach across Canada. The private equity and management firm, based in Toronto, announced that it will be opening seven new locations in 2025.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is expanding its footprint in Ontario, with its first location in the province set to open in Brampton this Fall 2025, followed by a second in Barrie by Winter 2025, according to Bite Brands’ LinkedIn page. Additional openings are planned across Canada, including new locations in Victoria, Vancouver, and Abbotsford, British Columbia, as well as a second Calgary location on Macleod Trail, all scheduled for later this year and into early 2026.
The Texas-style hot chicken sandwich brand arrived in Canada in January 2021. It would be the first international location. The franchise originates on the streets of Hollywood, California, where three friends started a pop-up, according to Dave’s Hot Chicken’s Instagram.
Now, not only are the beloved hot sandwiches turning up the heat in Canada, but there are also locations in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, to name a few.
Dave’s Hot Chicken specializes in jumbo Hot Chicken Tenders and Sliders, along with sides of house-made Kale Slaw, creamy Mac n’ Cheese, and crispy, seasoned French Fries. According to this press release celebrating a widely praised anniversary, Dave’s Hot Chicken is offered at seven various spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper™ (which requires a signed waiver for those who dare). Each piece of juicy, hand-breaded chicken is spiced-to-order.
Bite Brands, according to their LinkedIn profile, initiated the expansion of Dave’s Hot Chicken into the Canadian market.
No word yet on the exact dates of when the six locations yet to open will start operating. With plans to open 155 more locations in 2025, more franchises like these are likely to be established in various areas.
