California-based family-owned Mexican restaurant Puesto is bringing a location to Southwest Value Partner’s Nashville Yards development, according to a release. This will be the restaurant’s first venture outside its home state.
It will join the ground level of residential tower The Everett in the summer of 2026.
“I fell in love with Nashville during my time at Vanderbilt and have always dreamed of a homecoming. Now, I’m thrilled to bring the best Mexican food in the country to this incredible city,” Isidoro Lombrozo, co-founder of Puesto, said in the release. “We couldn’t be more excited to open our very first out of state location in Nashville. Nashville’s legendary music and electric energy capture what we love and celebrate at Puesto. This is an exciting new chapter in our expansion, and we can’t wait to share our passion with a city we love.”
Puesto serves Mexico City-style tacos, featuring fresh ingredients wrapped in a layer of melted cheese and hand-pressed blue corn tortillas. Signature offerings include the filet mignon taco, Maine lobster, Baja fish and chicken al pastor. Puesto also offers 17 made-to-order salsas. The beverage program features Mexican Lagers brewed in-house.
The brand launched in San Diego in 2012 and now has eight restaurants in California, as well as three locations in sports stadiums — Levi’s Stadium, Petco Park and Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
“Puesto is beloved in San Diego for its outrageous guacamole, amazing margaritas, award-winning authentic tacos and fun atmosphere,” Cary Mack, managing partner of Southwest Value Partners, said in the release. “Thriving as a Mexican restaurant in San Diego requires a level of authenticity and perfection not easily matched, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring these awesome flavors to Nashville!”
Puesto locations all feature a unique personality and design. The brand has tapped Nashville-based design and construction firm Powell for the Nashville Yards location. The design will be inspired by Mexico City, focusing on a pink and teal color scheme as well as elements like terrazzo, woven textures, and custom tilework. Other design touches will include woven pendants, lush greenery and bold works of art in the vein of folk art and urban modernism.
When it opens, Puesto will offer both lunch and dinner, as well as to-go, private dining and catering options.
