Sacramento’s Woodbine neighborhood is set to welcome a new affordable housing development. The project will build 23 townhomes and a 100-unit apartment building on Wah Avenue. The project aims to bring much-needed housing options to local families.

Single-family Project and Four-Story Apartment Planned

Councilmember Caity Maple announced on social media that Woodbine will soon see new affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento is set to develop 23 townhomes on one side of the site.

Meanwhile, Mutual Housing California will construct a four-story, 100-unit apartment building on the other side. Together, the projects will provide essential housing for families in District 5. This will address the growing demand for affordable homes in the area, Maple said.

The single-family homes will come in different sizes. It will include four two-bedroom, seven three-bedroom, and 12 four-bedroom units.

The 134,750-square-foot apartment complex will feature 23 one-bedroom, 50 two-bedroom, and 28 three-bedroom units. The project is expected to provide parking for 110 cars and up to 72 bicycles, as per SF YMBI.

Designed by Mogavero Architects, the development will showcase vernacular-style architecture across both the single-family and multi-family buildings. The project will be made of facades with board-and-batten fiber cement siding, stucco, and thin brick veneer.

Situated along Indian Lane and Wah Avenue, the site is just a ten-minute walk from Florin Station.

The combined projects by Habitat for Humanity and Mutual Housing California offer modern, well-designed options for families. The project represents a significant step in expanding affordable housing options for Sacramento families.
