Owners of a Romeo-based coffee shop will soon be opening the doors to their second location around Detroit.

Main’s Treat Coffeehouse is coming to a new storefront at 7765 Auburn Road in downtown Utica. This follows the opening of their Romeo location in February. According to owner Jon Rose, they are hoping to open in around three weeks.

Per a recent Facebook post, staff were waiting on approvals such as building, electrical and health permits. Construction is ongoing to prepare for the opening. The project was first teased earlier this month.

The Romeo coffeehouse, at 201 N Main Street, offers classic lattes, cappuccinos and special drinks like caramel macchiatos. Those not in the mood for coffee can also grab a smoothie or other cold drinks like iced teas and Italian sodas. Pastries like sandwiches and muffins are also options.

Main’s Treat is taking over the former Royal Beard Records shop. This is next to the restaurant Host Utica, an upscale spot for dinner and cocktails. The nearest coffee shop to downtown Utica is Coffee Bajza on Van Dyke Avenue.

The coffee shop has been involved in various fundraisers and community events for Romeo. The owners hope to bring the same level of involvement to Utica. For more information on Main’s Treat, visit their Instagram @mainstreatromeo.
