“Hi,” begins a post published back in June in the Facebook group Let’s Eat, South Florida. “It looks like they will be opening a Talkin’ Tacos on Griffin Rd. in Davie, but I haven’t been able to find any information as to when. Does anyone know?”

Though the post’s comment section showed curiosity about the opening, but no information was forthcoming. One comment posted a week ago reiterates: “Any answer to this?”

The halal taco chain, which was founded as a food truck and has expanding rapidly with both corporate and franchise stores in the last several years, is known as a “fast-casual Mexican eatery serving scratch-made, innovative, and Instagram-worthy dishes.” The menu features chef-driven creations like the brand’s Birria Tacos and Birria Ramen, Mahi Mahi Burrito, and Street Corn in a Cup.

That much we know. And athough no set opening date has been revealed yet, What Now did come across plan review paperwork submitted by Talkin’ Tacos corporate for a the location which would open at 7780 Griffin Road, Suite 110-111. So the opening does appear to be going forward. It’s currently searchable on Google Maps, despite being marked “Permanently closed.”

What Now reached out to Talkin’ Tacos’ Chief Operating Officer Mohamad Massalkhi on Wednesday to ask about the new Talkin’ Tacos opening. Massalki was not immediately available for comment on the matter.
