Arwa Yemeni Coffee is Coming to Houston

Arwa Yemeni Coffee has begun to sprout up all over Texas since its humble beginnings in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas.

Arwa Yemeni Coffee is bringing its award-winning Yemeni Coffee to Houston for the first time next year. According to a recently filed permit, Arwa Yemeni Coffee is set to open at 9719 Westheimer Rd in fall 2026.

Franchisee and tenant listed on the permit, Hamza Khan, confirmed with What Now Houston that construction on the new coffee shop is expected to start in February or March of next year and wrap up by the end of September 2026.

Arwa Yemeni Coffee was started in December 2022 in Richardson. With the opening, founders Susan Shihab, Yazan Soofi, and Nora Soofi bought the first Yemeni coffee shop to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, aiming to share Yemeni culture and coffee heritage with the community.

“Arwa Yemeni Coffee was established as a way to share the rich Yemeni culture with. As a family with deep roots in and fond memories of Yemen, we have a passion bringing awareness and amplifying the beauty of our homeland,” the website reads.

There are now six Arwa Yemeni Coffee locations throughout Texas and with the coffee brand franchising there are set to be many more in the state.

The authentic and orginal cafe offers traditional drinks like the Jubani, ice refershers like the Dragon’s Blood Refersher and classic coffee drinks.
