Juici Patties to Open a Galleria Area Location

Juici Patties is working on another Greater Houston opening. The Jamaican patty brand is working on bringing another opening to Westheimer Road. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Juici Patties is expected to open in the Briargrove/Galleria area at 6134 Westheimer Road, Suite B1.

The address is in a commercial strip mall/standalone retail strip. While it operates as a smaller neighborhood strip center rather than a massive named regional mall, Suite B1 at this exact property was previously home to a 9Round Fitness location. The broader building complex is best known for housing the popular luxury salon and spa, Le Bijou.

The permit for the new Juici Patties further details the construction project for the new storefront is planned to start toward the end of this year and is slated to wrap up by the end of March next year. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $350,000 construction project, the new Juici Patties should open by Spring 2027.

At the helm of the opening are the children of the owner, Jukie Chin: Daniel and Alyssa. What Now Houston reached out to Daniel and Alyssa about the second Westheimer Road opening. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“We got our start serving one customer at a time. And we’ll never forget the special part our customers play in our story, as Juici Patties grew to become the largest and most popular patty restaurant in Jamaica,” the brand’s website reads.

“The company’s founder, Jukie Chin, started making our signature Juici Patties in his mother’s kitchen and selling them in his parents’ grocery store. Today, his son, Daniel, leads our Juici Patties American team as we serve up some serious Jamaican flavor to some serious Jamaican food lovers!”

Chin founded Juici Patties in 1978 after baking his first batch of patties in his mother’s kitchen and selling them at the family’s grocery store in Clarendon, Jamaica. By 1980, the official first store opened under the name Juici Beef Patties in May Pen, Clarendon, starting with a tiny team of just Jukie, a baker, and a cashier. In 2001-2002, Juici Patties became the first local fast-food chain to open locations across all 14 Jamaican parishes, later moving its main manufacturing plant to a larger space in Clarendon Park. It was at this time that the brand shortened its name to Juici Patties and underwent major store updates to reflect its modern identity.

There are now more than 100 Juici Patties locations, including 67 locations in Jamaica and 36 locations across the United States.

Juici Patties is anticipated to open in the Briargrove/Galleria area at 6134 Westheimer Road, Suite B1 by Spring 2027.
