Sephora is coming to The Grand at 249! According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the personal care and beauty products retailer is expected to open at 25581 Tomball Pkwy.

The permit further details that the construction project for the new Sephora set to come to The Grand at 249 is planned to start in mid-February next year and is slated to be completed by the end of May 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $725,000 construction project, the new Sephora should open by next Spring.

“This project is an interior tenant fit-out for Sephora of approximately 4,950 SF. Work includes, but is not limited to, construction of interior walls/partitions, wall fixtures, flooring, ceiling, light fixtures, and partial MEP,” the permit for the new Sephora reads.

What Now Houston reached out to Matthew Coy, Senior Director, Retail Development, to find out more about the exciting new development. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“We believe that beauty thrives in diversity and discovery. Our purpose is to champion a world of inspiration and inclusion where everyone can celebrate their beauty,” the Sephora website reads.

“From the very beginning, our founder believed that Sephora could not only disrupt beauty retail but be a positive force in the world. ”

Sephora is a global beauty giant founded in France in 1969 by entrepreneur Dominique Mandonnaud, which revolutionized cosmetics retail with its open-sell, interactive shopping model. Mandonnaud introduced a radical “assisted self-service” layout. Instead of keeping beauty products locked behind traditional counters, the open-sell format allowed customers to freely touch, smell, and test makeup and fragrances. Sephora opened its first United States store in New York City in the late 90s and launched its online e-commerce platform.

In the 2000s, the brand expanded aggressively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, introducing private labels like Sephora Collection alongside exclusive prestige partnerships. Today, there are more than 3,000 Sephora stores across 35 countries worldwide. There are 157 Sephora store locations in Texas, with about 12 of those in the Greater Houston region. The upcoming The Grand at 249 opening will be a welcome addition.

Sephora is anticipated to open within The Grand at 249 at 25581 Tomball Pkwy by Spring 2027.
