Crazy Pita, the Mediterranean restaurant that specializes in fresh, stuffed pitas and rotisserie chicken, is opening a location inside a Jacksonville Walmart.
According to a video posted on Instagram, Crazy Pita will build an entire restaurant inside the Walmart at 10991 San Jose Boulevard. In a walk-through, owner Mehdi Zarhoul explains that the restaurant will feature an open kitchen where customers can watch the chefs cut vegetables, skewer meat, and prepare meals in real time. Plans for the restaurant have been filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, but no opening date has been set.
Crazy Pita was founded in Las Vegas in 2006 by Zarhloul, who wanted to bring authentic Mediterranean flavors to the area. The restaurant has grown in popularity for its freshly grilled meats and colorful vegetables. Guests can order their choice of protein or vegetables in a pita, a bowl, or as a salad. Crazy Pita also offers family meals and does catering for events and parties.
There are currently locations in Las Vegas, Texas, Port St. Lucie, and Colorado. Earlier this year, Crazy Pita announced it would open a Jacksonville restaurant at 13277 City Square Drive. The restaurant also plans to open in the Miami market and at Coronado Naval Base.
