Street Taco, a Mexico City street food-inspired family-operated restaurant, is getting ready to open a new location in the Financial District at 116 New Montgomery Street.
The company’s fifth location is targeting a January 2026 opening, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The Financial District site will bring its casual taco-and-burrito concept to a central downtown neighborhood. Guests can expect Street Taco’s signature menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, bowls, and a variety of Mexican street drinks, served in a quick-service setting aimed at office workers, visitors, and residents.
Street Taco was founded more than a decade ago in the Haight, where the first location at 1607 Haight Street remains in operation. Since then, the restaurant has expanded across San Francisco with locations in Soma, Potrero Hill, and the Inner Sunset. Each location serves two-taco orders featuring meats such as carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, pollo, and chorizo, as well as vegetarian options like nopales and grilled vegetables. The new Financial District site marks the brand’s fifth San Francisco restaurant and continues its focus on accessible, fast-casual Mexican cuisine.
Street Taco’s menu also includes burritos, super burritos, street burritos, nachos, alambres, salads, and sides, along with beverages such as aguas frescas, Mexican sodas, and draft beer. Customers can also order online for pickup or delivery through the restaurant’s platform. Signature menu items include the al pastor taco, campechano, and street bowls, all served with fresh toppings like guacamole, cilantro, onions, and salsa.
The tacos are made with handmade, organic tortillas, crafted to order, ensuring each bite is as fresh as possible. Plus, the tacos feature the highest-quality meat, including tender, flavorful Arrachera (flap meat), which the ownership team is extremely proud to offer. The restaurants are designed for quick service, with casual seating and an approachable atmosphere that reflects the Mexico City street food inspiration.
Street Taco’s expansion into the Financial District aligns with its growth strategy to reach diverse San Francisco neighborhoods while maintaining its original Haight Street roots. The brand continues to emphasize fresh ingredients, customizable options, and a menu that appeals to both office crowds and residents.
