This week, ChinatownVegas.com broke the news of a “massive new culture and entertainment attraction” headed to Chinatown. Chubby World will be a “25,000-square-foot, multi-floor Japanese-themed food, retail, and entertainment plaza,” opening in the old Firestone Tire Building at 3810 Spring Mountain Road.
Chubby Group, the hospitality powerhouse behind restaurants like Chubby Cattle, is partnering with Hashi Market on the project, which comprises four levels, plus a basement level.
On the fourth floor will be a theater, offering “Cosplay shows, anime events, cultural performances, and community programming.” On the third floor will be a “Tokyo-Style Food Court: An immersive Tokyo alley design featuring a mix of Chubby Group concepts and partner vendors on a commission model.” The second floor will feature a Hashi Market, plus “Vegas’s most affordable omakase experience, projected to be priced at $40-$69 per person.”
Finally, the first floor will serve as a “Vending, Anime Merch & Retail” level, while the basement will operate as a music hall— “A 360-degree LED projection venue built for DJ nights, anime-themed events, concerts, and late-night entertainment.”
Chubby World has no publicly available projected opening date as of yet, but once it launches, it’s going to be game changer, an entertainment hub opening at 11 a.m. and staying open until 2 .am.
“Most importantly,” the Chinatown Vegas coverage says, “it revitalizes the long-empty Firestone corner that locals have been eager to see activated for years. Chubby World is poised to become one of Chinatown’s most significant attractions—ever.”
